I find it fairly ironic that just as I've gone over the omg1000 friends marker over on LJ, fandom is migrating to other venues. But since I'd promised myself to do something special (to me anyway) to mark the occasion, I'm offering anyone on that 1000+ friends list of mine the chance to ask for a drabble or a wee ficlet, based on anything you'd like to see in any of my stories. A missing scene? Just want a little more schmoop smut? Give me a story, and a prompt and I'll see what I can do. I'll do as many of these (assuming I have any takers who aren't stressed out by the fandom migration) as I can, and will cross post here and wherever we end up.

I think we can all agree that I suck at con reports, not as much as I suck at being on panels, but I'll get to that in a minute. What I do want to talk about, having done two amazing Harry Potter conferences (one more amazing than the other) in two weeks, is ( the amazing generosity of fans )

Had the most perfect day! Met up with [info]cruisedirector and [info]gblvr for lunch in perilous downtown D.C, then were joined by [info]rubyrosered and [info]adbaculum for Alan Rickman in Snowcake, playing in a tiny theater smack in the middle of D.C. Oh, Alan, how I love your black briefs and the long lingering shots of your emo face!

Then had [info]filker_tom playing on the drive home.

I'm leaving for New Orleans for Phoenix Rising, in--*looks at calendar*--omg, two days! I'm meeting up with [info]anise_anise and flying down on Thursday, so won't be on line much this weekend. Thank god the porn is already packed! Now just have to figure what else to take....

I wish I could take the lovely red rose on my user page! Thank you, oh, mystery giver of such joy!

As part of the events leading up to Book 7, my local Borders is having the author of this book, George Beahm come in for a discussion and signing. Has anyone read this one? There are so many of these 'let's make a quick buck of Harry Potter' books out there that I don't want to get the book if it's crap. But I'd love to get it if it's worth buying...

Surfacing, finally, from finishing up my [info]snarry_games story, after not one, but two extensions! *smooches mods*

Which means of course that now I get to actually read some of them, since I had to stay off LJ mostly to get the story done. I, ahem, hear there was some trashtalking going on? Tsk, tsk.

In a further fit of celebration I went ahead and signed up for Portus 08, The HP conference in Dallas next year in the brave hope that I'll still be as crazy about HP stuff after the book comes out. I will, won't I?

Also discovered, that despite being the worst mod ever, I'm helping to mod panels and both Prophecy and Sectus! Which fills me with dread squee!

4:06 pm - Updating On the Fly...
Does anybody else get antsy when they haven't updated in a while?

I've spent the last few weekends on the fly--first in glamorous downtown Schenectedy seeing Camelot, then a lovely weekend in Ventura Beach, CA, at Escapade, which I'd never been to before but enjoyed very much. I actually 'helped' mod a panel with [info]swtalmnd and [info]snapetoy on weird, strange feedback which was fun, but underlined for me why I'm so not cut out to mod panels! It was fabulous meeting a lot of cool authors (Aucta! Tryfanstone! J1M!) and finding out how many of us were not working on our [info]snarry_games fics.....(DJ, I swear I am now! Really!)

I'm now frantically trying to pack anything that doesn't make me look fat my bag for London and a whirlwind theater weekend to see Equus in London! I'm also going to see Jason Isaacs in The Dumb Waiter and, given the crowds at the Equus stage door, feel I have a much better chance of molesting meeting Jason than Dan!
